Our story

Established in 2015 in Helsinki, Finland, LKOS Law Office is a family-owned, premier business law firm. 

The story of LKOS Law Office began long before its official establishment. It traces back to a life-changing meeting in November 2011, when the founding partners crossed paths in Riga, Latvia. Both partners shared a visionary dream—to establish a premier law office in Helsinki, Finland, where knowledge, professional experience, and a passion for delivering first-class, tailor-made legal services to corporate clients would converge.

Our journey began in the humble office premises on Hämeentie. As our firm grew, we relocated to Unioninkatu in 2017, and in 2024, we moved to our current location in Töölönkatu 4, where we continue to serve our clients with unwavering commitment. 

Throughout our growth, we have stayed true to our roots as a family business. This personal touch is reflected in every aspect of our practice. At the beginning of our journey, we welcomed our three amazing children into the world. As they grow, so does our firm, embodying the values of dedication and care. They are being raised with a firsthand understanding of what it means to own and nurture a business, making them an integral part of our story.

Our mission is to support and advise our clients in a manner that resolves their legal challenges once and for all.   • 25.11.2011 The founding partners of LKOS Law Office meet for the first time
  • 3.2.2015 LKOS Law Office was founded, first office in Hämeentie, Helsinki
  • 2016 We achieved our first significant victory for a client by successfully settling a damage claim. This milestone marked a clear turning point for our firm, setting the foundation for our future path and reinforcing our commitment to delivering exceptional results for our clients. 
  • 2017 New office premises in Unioninkatu, Helsinki
  • 2017 Our first summer trainee
  • 2018 Our first interview in Kauppalehti – the main Finnish commerce-oriented newspaper
  • 2019 Liene Krumina becomes Helsinki Business specialist by Doing Business international
  • 2019 Oscari Seppälä is awarded as Transport law partner and LKOS Law Office as Transport law firm of the year by International Advisory Expert Group
  • 2020 Oscari Seppälä is awarded as Transport law lawyer of the year in Finland by Global 100
  • 2020 LKOS Law Office is awarded as Transport law firm of the year by Global Law Experts
  • 2021 LKOS Law Office is awarded as Transport law firm of the year by Global Law Experts
  • 2021 Liene Krumina is granted Finnish Nationality
  • 2022 LKOS Law Office is ranked as a leading Transport Law Firm in Finland by several prestigious publications. The following publications have awarded LKOS Law Office: 2022 Corporate INTL Magazine Global; Leaders in Law 2021; M&A Today – Global Awards – 2022 and Lawyer Network Annual Awards.   • 2023 Oscari Seppälä is asked to prepare an expert opinion for an insurance company to be used in the Finnish Financial Ombudsman Bureau’s Insurance Complaints Board to support the decision of the insurance company in the matter
  • 2024 New office premises in Töölönkatu, Helsinki
